Where should I have my session? When deciding on a location, think about what you like to do and what you want your final images to look like when they are hanging on your wall. I equally love shooting in home sessions as well as outdoor sessions. I have a number of amazing outdoor locations I can suggest or you can choose your favourite spot. The options are endless, but some examples are, forests, the beach, waterfalls and creeks, the country side, tall grassy fields etc. In home sessions are raw, emotional and intimate, and I love them just as much as outdoor sessions. There is something really special about capturing life at home, especially all of the tiny details of your precious newborn or the amazing changes with your body.

What time do you shoot outdoor sessions? My favourite times to shoot outdoor sessions are at sunrise and sunset. The light is soft and warm and makes for the most dreamy images. I have found that any other time of day, the light is too harsh which makes it difficult to shoot.

What time do you shoot in home sessions?I have found that in home sessions are best shot in the morning when the light is the brightest and pouring through the windows. This is generally any time between 10am and 1pm.

What happens if I get sick the day of my session? If you or any of your littles are unwell on the day of your session please let me know as soon as you can and I will happily reschedule. There is no fee to reschedule your session.
-
What happens if it rains on the day of my session?I shoot in all kinds of weather however if the rain is too heavy it can cause damage to my equipment. We will make a call on the day if the weather is poor and reschedule if necessary.

What should I wear to my session? It's important to remember to be comfortable. You will be far more relaxed and have so much more fun if you are dressed comfortably and in a way that reflects you. Choose outfits with movement, like flowy dresses and skirts. Try colours and patterns that compliment each other. For example, light blues with creams and greys, burgundy and mustard, navy and grey etc. Clothing with texture is also great as it adds character and depth to your images, for example, chunky cable knit sweaters, linen, lace etc. When it comes to maternity sessions, you can choose to wear your own clothing or I offer a large range of dresses, gowns and kimonos in my client closet. These items are exclusively for my maternity clients and the closet is mostly made up of designer gowns and kimonos that can be worn just about anywhere. Be sure to check out the maternity client closet here.

What should I do to prepare for my in home session? With in home sessions I come to you, which gives you time to relax and get comfortable before your session. These really are storytelling sessions, documenting your life. We will use bedrooms, kitchens and living spaces to find the best available light and capture you and your loves doing your thing in the comfort of your own home. You can wear comfortable clothing without the pressure of dressing up. There is also no pressure on making your house spotless. A quick tidy up is all you need. If your house is chaos, embrace it. That's the beauty of these sessions, authentic life at home.
